What is ACAP?
ACAP stands for Accounting Career Awareness Program. ACAP is designed to increase the number of underrepresented ethnic minorities pursuing careers in accounting and related business areas.
Through ACAP's efforts, participating high school students receive educational enrichment experiences and practical help they need to prepare for university-level programs. Students are selected based on a variety of factors including high school counselor recommendations, student applications, and personal interviews.

What do we do?
ACAP IN A DAY (Conference)
In 2017 we launched ACAP in a Day, which is a one-day conference open to all high school students and their parents. The objective of the conference is to increase awareness of careers in accounting, finance, and business to a larger population, while also encouraging parents to support their students in the process of selecting a college and college major of study.
ACAP IN A WEEK (Summer Residency Week)
ACAP is an annual one-week summer residency program for high school students held at a local college or university and is designed to promote awareness of accounting, finance and other business professions.
ACAP is endorsed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Certified Public Accountants Society of Executives Association, and various State Societies of CPAs.
ACAP IN A YEAR
In 2018 we launched ACAP in a Year, which is an 8-month immersion program at Oakland High School. Our team acknowledges there is an underserved population of high school students who are not comfortable visiting a college campus or completing applications, therefore we designed this program to bring our knowledge directly to them.
